OUR MISSION The mission of First Step of Hope is to break the difficult cycle of abuse in the community and provide women and children a safe emergency environment.
SERVICES First Step of Hope, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that will provide information for transitional housing and provide life skill training for women. We will offer assistance to women that have been abused and have no where to go and may become homeless. We will assist them as they move from dependent to self-sufficient lifestyles. Additionally, we will assists clients in child reunification. This is particularly important as most abused women in transitional housing have children but no custody. The facility will provide clients within a multi-step program that teaches them necessary life skills. This collaborative approach to empowerment is the keystone to developing self-sufficiency for the clients.The steps include personal development, vocational training, substance abuse counseling, interpersonal skills building, community involvement, leisure activities, and independent living skills.
